Dr. Glass has been actively engaged in the study of mechanisms of chronic renal disease for over 20 years and has been a practicing nephropathologist for 15 years. He has served on the faculty of UTHSCSA, The University of Virginia and Eastern Virginia Medical School where he was also chair of the department of pathology and anatomy and medical director of the Renal Pathology Service.

Dr. Glass has been principal investigator on multiple research programs including projects supported by The National Institutes of Health, The Veterans Administration, The American Heart Association, The National Kidney Foundation of the Virginias and Satellite Research. He has over 30 publications and has made numerous presentations at national and international meetings.

Dr. Glass is a member of multiple professional societies including The Renal Pathology Society, The American Society of Nephrology and The International Society of Nephrology, among others. He believes that renal pathology is a clinicopathological diagnostic specialty that requires clear and efficient communication and consultation with referring physicians.
