Dr. Lu comes to Bostwick Laboratories in Richmond, Virginia after having been employed as a staff pathologist with DIANON Systems and UroCor. He received his medical degree from Rangoon University in Rangoon, Burma, and has been a fellow of immunopathology at Norwalk Hospital/Yale University, Connecticut. He has additional fellowships in cytopathology and surgical pathology at the University of Florida Health Science Center in Jacksonville, Florida where he completed his residency and was a research fellow. He is board certified in anatomic pathology and cytopathology, and is a fellow of the International Board of Cytopathology.

Dr. Lu's societal memberships include the American Medical Association, College of American Pathologists, and the American Society of Clinical Pathologists among others.
