Dr. Santarsieri is a nationally recognized pathologist, with over 20 years of experience. He received his M.D. from the University “La Sapienza” in Rome, Italy and his training includes a surgical pathology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and a cytopathology fellowship at the Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York under the direction of Dr. Leopold Koss.

Prior to joining Bostwick Laboratories, Dr. Santarsieri practiced with DIANON Systems/LabCorp for 13 years serving as the executive medical director of the New York laboratories for the past seven years. He was also assistant attending pathologist at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park, New York and spent time as an ssistant professor of pathology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, New York.

Dr. Santarsieri is board-certified in anatomic pathology and cytopathology with American as well as European professional affiliations. His diagnostic skills include uropathology, breast pathology, gynecologic pathology, cytopathology and extensive expertise in gastrointestinal pathology. In the past ten years, Dr. Santarsieri has diagnosed approximately 500,000 GI specimens.
